Letter from the Director
The Frenzy of the holiday season has come and gone, and the children are settled back into their classroom routines. I’ve been enjoying watching these young friends work together in the classroom. The seeds of friendship that were planted in the fall have grown and are really starting to flourish. It continues to amaze me how the children blossom right before our eyes.
March will be busy a busy month at the Co-Op!
Due to the large amount of snow still on the playground, we will continue to hold recess inside in the Big Hall. I will continue to assess the situation and will send an email as soon as it is safe to return to the playground.
We will be having Pancakes and PJ Day on March 17th and 18th. On these days, the children (and the teachers) can come to school wearing their PJs! We will be asking for special volunteers to help with set up, cooking, and donating the needed supplies for that morning. Please be on the lookout in your child’s class for the sign-up sheet.
March 30th and 31st, Curious Creatures will be visiting! This is one of our favorite special events. The children will have the opportunity to pat a skunk, visit a tarantula, hold a boa constrictor, and so much more!
Enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year is well underway and the classrooms are filling up quickly!
We will be looking to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors. If you are interested in being on the board, please check out the open positions. If you are not sure or want more information, please let us know.
We are still looking for parents to write about their experience at the Co-Op. If you are interested in adding to our website, please send your blurb to Wende at email@example.com. The best reference is through the positive words of another parent.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
A huge, grateful thank you to the parents who helped during the February break to get the carpets cleaned. Thank you Katie Toomey and Elizabeth Ridenour for tending to the children in the Big Hall, keeping them happy and entertained for hours! An enormous thank you to Adam Felzani who tackled the carpet cleaning machine with me, making a large job go smoothly and efficiently.
Glad to have the carpets thoroughly cleaned and ready for more fun!
Letter from the VP of Fundraising
Hello Co-Op families!
It’s now time to look forward to our next big fundraiser for the year—the Basket Raffle, which is held in conjunction with a children’s concert by Stacey Peasley! Please spread the word about this fun concert. I hope you can all attend! For those unfamiliar with the Basket Raffle format, we sell raffle tickets, and those who enter drop their tickets in the container for the item(s) they are interested in winning. The more tickets you put in a bucket, the better your chance to win that item! Items include Red Sox tickets (9 rows behind 1st base/Sox dugout!), passes for museums, theme parks, the Block Island ferry, and local restaurant gift certificates!
We are sending home packets of tickets this week in case you would like to pre-sell tickets to anyone who might not be able to make the concert, but there is no requirement to do so.
We will need a few people to help with set up and clean up on the 28th. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you are willing to help.
Continuing the theme of spread the word…please let your local friends and family know that we will be having another dining night at Papa Gino’s on Route 110 in Chelmsford on Wednesday, March 18. Don’t forget to bring your flyer!
Keep an eye out at the beginning of April for Square One Art packets to come home. Your kids have done artwork at school that Square One can print on a wide variety of gift items for you to purchase. Thanks to Katie Kelepouris for heading up the Square One fundraiser!
Sincere thanks for all you’ve done so far this year to help our fundraising efforts to make the Co-Op a better place!
